Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before the splashing starts.
What ages can play Splash Clash?
Splash Clash is for ages 6 and up (although the occasional younger sibling can tag along with parental supervision). Kids love it, but so do teenagers and adults. It’s truly an all-ages hit!
How many people can play Splash Clash?
Splash Clash plays best in groups of up to 50 โ and that’s the cap for summer camps, because campers go through water FAST and most hookups can only keep up with so much. Large events with a strong water supply can run up to 100 at a time, and huge events up to 200 at a time (think: fire-hydrant-level water). Bigger crowds rotate through in hourly waves.
How long is a game of Splash Clash?
About 60 minutes, all-in: we go over the rules and everyone vests up, then Round One (15โ20 minutes), a score check while we refill the reservoirs, then Round Two and the final score.
What games do you play?
Most events run two rounds of Splash Clash Classic โ that’s the main event. For the right groups we’ll break out our crazy water-tag version of Capture The Flag, complete with buoyant flags. And ask about Boss Battle (Beta), our newest game: counselors suit up in high-tech sensor vests, and the kids team up to take down the boss.
What will my Game Master bring?
We bring everything but the water! (And we have hoses for that. Lots and lots of hoses.) Water blasters and vests for your whole group, portable reservoirs everyone fills from, and special buoyant “flags” for Capture The Flag.
How do I prepare?
We need access to a working hose hookup and a big open area within 100 feet of the hose hookup. We’ll handle everything else.
What kind of “big open area” works best?
Splash Clash should be within 100 feet of the water hookup, on a surface that’s been cleared of toys, furniture, etc. Flat, paved surfaces work better than a sloped driveway. Sports courts and artificial grass are perfect when available. We ARE able to work with grass, but be aware that at the end of the game we tip our reservoirs to empty them, and those areas will get muddy.
What should players wear?
It’s a water party, so dress to get wet!
How far does Splash Clash travel?
We go all over Chicagoland, and sometimes even farther! (We do occasionally assess a travel fee for events outside our regular service area.)
When is Splash Clash’s operating season?
Usually May through September โ we open before Memorial Day and keep going past Labor Day, and we can sometimes make exceptions outside that window. Just ask!
What kind of weather is best for Splash Clash?
Splash Clash is great on a hot, sunny day. It’s great on a cool, cloudy day. It’s even great in a drizzle. The only weather to avoid is a rainstorm, extreme wind, or freezing cold. If the weather is unsuitable on the day of your event, we’ll be happy to reschedule, no problem. (Just let us know before we head out to your event.)
Who is coming to my event?
Our team is largely made up of teachers. We love being part of creating incredible experiences!
Is Splash Clash available on holidays?
We are! We may offer special packages and pricing for high-demand dates including Memorial Day, July Fourth, and Labor Day.
